Sofie's page

Warning:  People who are not dog lovers had better hit the "back" button.

Sofie is our miniature Australian Shepherd.  She was born September 6, 2003 and is our "baby". Our grown son and daughter don't appreciate it when we tell Sofie to give your "sister" or "brother" a kiss hello when they come to visit.   Yes!  We are a little nuts but when you see her pictures how could you not be. 

Sofie is the class mascot.  The students simply must keep the lids on their painting boxes when they come.  Sofie will go get into a box and bring "Mommy" brushes, tiles, paint vials, and whatever she can get into.  I shouldn't really tell her "No!"  I could sell the stuff to the students all over again if I was smart. 

When Sofie isn't plaguing the artists, she can be found "helping" her Dad in the barn yard and shop.  She loves grabbing his gloves and running like crazy as he scrambles to get them back. 

When you come to the studio, she will be there to greet you with her side-winding step begging to be petted.

This is Sofie's graduation picture from "Puppy" classes.  She took the basic puppy class and a few weeks later went through "Bare Bones" where she learned manners.  For her graduation "trick" Dad taught her to pray by putting her paws on his arm and when he asks her to pray, she puts her sweet little head between her paws. He has taught her a few naughty tricks, too but we won't go into those.  Since she was a few weeks old and after being adopted into our family, she has gone to the door and rang a little bell when she needs to go outside to do business.  We can even take the bell on trips, hang it on a door knob where we are staying and she will still let us know when she has to go out by ringing the bell.
